Raja Ampat Expedition, Indonesia

Since time immemorial, the Far East has been known for its tales of fantastical beasts. Well, here’s where to find them, where the Pacific meets the Indian Ocean in a biodiverse wonderland.

5 to 7 night voyage through Raja Ampat on Aman’s flagship yacht, Amandira

Thousands of islands, cays and shoals cloaked in a tropical jungle, countless species of marine life. This is nature at its most intriguing. You can explore it all from on board the Amandira, a custom-built, two-masted Phinisi vessel with a PADI-certified dive master on board to guide you both above and below the sea.

Navigating through the Raja Ampat, a spectacular 40,000 sqkm+ area teeming with biodiversity to make Charles Darwin blush, you and your loved ones can enjoy an incomparably personalised journey that just feels right. We can even make sure that you spend your time doing what you want to, whether its hours scuba diving, snorkelling and kayaking, or hitting up our fave hidden gems for a bite and more. Or of course, a heady mix of the two.

Our expedition traditionally begins in Sorong with exhilarating cruising to Mioskon Island and its revered dive sites, followed by a dive or snorkel across the equator and back again to the coral-fringed lagoons of Wayag. Adventure-seekers also love the opportunity to scale Mount Pindito for jaw-dropping views in every direction, featuring emerald islands rising from turquoise atolls.

Channel your inner first lady, the irrepressible Jackie O with a spot of pearl farming, dive among ghost pipefish and blue ring octopus, set sail for an evening of whale and star-watching on the Equator, swim with manta rays or do something completely off the charts. Don’t just leave it to us though, we’ve got a fantastic on-ground team of fearsome (not really) Komodo dragons, turtles, birds of paradise, sea turtles and yes, even sharks, to help make the experience extraordinary.
